What is Toastmasters?

  • Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills.
    • Yammertime is one of ~16,000+ clubs worldwide.
  • Most Toastmasters meetings consist of 10 to 20 people who meet weekly for an hour.
    • Members practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role (like timer), or giving a prepared speech or an impromptu speech.
  • We improve by giving each other continual, positive feedback about every speech, role, and meeting.

Why Yammertime?

  • Yammertime is committed to attracting a diverse membership with regard to race, gender, age, career status, and more.
  • Members have included students, lawyers, executives, web developers, researchers, administrative professionals, retirees, nurses, entrepreneurs and sales professionals.
  • We love to have fun and form a surprisingly welcoming, supportive, casual, small group of friendly faces.

Visit to see what it's like!

  • We meet Wednesday mornings, 7:15 am to 8:15 am Pacific Time (UTC -8) by Zoom. Email us for details.
  • We will meet on Zoom until further notice.
  • When we can be confident it's safe, we may meet in person as before. At that time we aim to allow online attendance also.
  • We used to meet at the South Waterfront Knight Cancer Research Building (2720 SW Moody Ave) and will likely return to that location eventually.
